Welcome!

A warm welcome to all teachers of English from the members of the Sri Lankan English Language Teachers’ Association (SLELTA), the only professional organisation for teachers of English in Sri Lanka. We are a non-profit making and non-political organisation aiming to promote scholarship, dissemination of information, strengthening of instruction and research at all levels in the teaching of English and the development of a tradition of English Language Teaching (ELT).

Our aims are:

• To stimulate the professional development of the teachers of English in Sri Lanka with a view to promoting alive and innovative ELT community.

• To establish and maintain appropriate professional contacts through affiliation with other ELT organisations, at national, regional and international levels.

• To provide a forum for group discussion and study of the issues in these related educational fields.
